I could go into detail about my impacted wisdom teeth but you'll probably get freaked out.

All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted...a very, very painful couple of days. I had no pain medication expect for your regular tylenol. I, a grown man, wimpered myself to sleep that night.

OP: All 4 and sediation...you don't want to hear the procedure.

I had one of the 4 pulled about 6 months ago. A lower. I have no chewing related problems with that upper still in place.

It sounds like the cost is important to you. If you can save money by having just two taken out, I would say that's the way to go. Of course, YMMV.

I had all 4 done at the same time. I was knocked out completely plus the used so much local anesthesia that my mouth was numb for 2 days. I was never in much pain at all and didn't even bother with the painkillers they gave me, but my whole face was really swollen.

I say do all 4. If you're going to go through it anyway, there's not much reason to leave 2 of them in there.

I had all four out with a local. It really isn't as bad as people say it is.

I'm really glad I was asleep when I got mine done. They told me I was going to feel a little "relaxed." I remember feeling relaxed for a few seconds and that was it. The next thing I remember they were walking me over to a bed to rest cause I was all done. It wasn't too bad at all.

As for the pain afterwards, jamba juice! you can't use a straw so it takes a while to finish the whole thing. Also, chewing on tea bags helps a lot as well. Just try to get a nice flavor.

My father is a retired dentist and when I had mine out he recommended doing all at once and being put under. I got nitrous before, IV during, oxycotin for the week after.

Use IV for sedation.

Aye. Thats what I did. I also went to an Oral Surgeon, not just a dentist. It was quite possibly one of the most pleasant surgical experiences I will ever have. The IV knocked me right out (I weigh 235 too) and when I woke up, I felt fine and everything had been taken care of without any issues. My mouth never got swollen and the sockets healed up nicely.

I had local anesthesia and didn't feel a thing. Just make sure to eat all those painkillers they give you, at least enjoy your time spent recovering. ;)

I had all 4 removed at once by an oral surgeon. He gave me the option of being asleep for it or just numbing my mouth. I took the being asleep which turned out to be a great choice, since I later had an infection in one of the removal sites and he had to go in and clear it out. For that, I only had some novicane and it still felt weird and hurt a little (mostly the bone scraping sounds that are the really disturbing ones).

no one has 6!

He could have had other molars pulled at the same time. Wisdom teeth are actually the 3rd (and last) molar at the back of the mouth. I'm no dentist though.

I'd try to take all the wisdom teeth out in one visit.
I should've done that when I had one of my removed as it was causing trouble.
The doc didn't say anything about the other 3 so at that time I didn't think about it. Maybe it was too young or something.
Also not a fan of shots and the IV is like one. I'd go for the local.
