I was awake when they did it, and I was able to eat solid food (carefully) the next day. No big deal.

Day 2 for me. (Got them extracted yesterday).
No cracked teeth by the way. Not much pain either. Very slight discomfort on left. None on right. You'll be fine.

My daughter just got hers out last month and she looked like a chipmunk for a full week. :D

But overall, she said it wasn't so bad... and she has a very low tolerance for pain.

Now me, I had mine out ages ago and had no problem, but I'm part Red Sonya. :p

I got mine out last friday. They put me under, which I think is the way to go. I had two impacted ones on the top, that was it. 15 minutes and I was done. DON'T DRIVE HOME. I could barely walk straight for like 30 minutes after. As for pain afterwards, there really wasn't any. Cheeks a little swollen, thats it. By Sunday night I could eat anything I wanted to, pain free.

heh, got all four of mine out at once. put me under, done in 40 minutes i think. and yeah, they wouldn't start unless they verified i had another driver :p

hurt for a day, could eat just fine soon afterwards. i didn't get the good druggy medicine tho.. i got a non-drowsy substitute :( the only thing that worried me... the holes left behind... i didn't notice them until three days later for somereason, and thought they opened up. it's fun to get food stuck in there..... hehe

Had mine out about 3 years ago, I think I was 19. They were in deep and had to dig them out. I was out, but it sure hurt when I woke up. My jaw was so stiff and I couldn't open it as wide as before for months. It's not as bad as breaking your tibia and having a plate put in though :D

BTW, HotChic are you really hot?

I had all four done at the same time. They double novicaned me on both sides. A total of 4 full syringes of novacaine. I couldn't feel my face for about 6 hours. I had no problems with impaction or anything like that. The only distrubing memory I have of the experience is the snapping/crunching sound when they take the pliers in there and rip em out. All mine came out clean I believe.

same..it wasn't too bad. The swelling went down in about 3 days.

I had mine taken out last year. None of them had broken the gums so they had to cut 'em open to remove them. Yeah, I was still concious when they did that and then removed the tooth, but I was so high on the IV sedative that they gave me that I didn't care. Afterward, they gave me percocet, which didn't knock me out as much as I expected.

I don't know what they gave me to put me to sleep, but when I woke up I couldn't stop laughing and hiccuping and I hugged every nurse there. So, have fun if they give give you whatever put me to sleep (I'm assuming it was nitrous (sp?))

My worries are that if i get mine pulled, the Navy is going to do it. Yeah the same guys who mistakenly amputated a woman's leg and had her appendix burst an hour later. The guy next to her had his healthy appendix removed. Oops.

i've had many teeth pulled, from wisdom, to baby teeth that crowded or something.

i've never ever felt pain. its odd, drilling sometimes is pretty painful, but pulling just involves a certain amount of fear.

i got local anesthesia for my wisdom teethh. faster recovery, less side effects. my bottom ones had no erupted yet either. so the guy sliced my gums with a scalpal,,then whipped out a mini buzz saw and cut through bone on top of the tooth. i was kinda freaking out at this point, but i felt nothing. then he pulled the teeth out and stitched me up. no pain. and the pain killers after were wonderful:) :D

Getting wisdom teeth pulled isn't that bad. i only had local when I had mine taken out. I only needed the meds when I had my impacted one taken out and then got dry socket. Btw dry socket sucks. If your wisdom teeth aren't impacted, they should come out fairly easy unless they are in jaw bone.
