Getting my stuff Friday

Ordered a 3000+,DFI Ultra-D and a Zalman 7000B-LED and it all should be here tomorrow or Friday.

Have in hand:
Corsair Value PC3200
BFG 6600GT
80gb 7200/8mb
4 case fans
dual UV CCFL
2 optical drives.

Heres the thing I RMA'ed my Enermax 485watt yesterday and probably won't get it for at least a week and a half to 2 weeks. It had a slight electrical static noise to it when I first power my system on. You only hear it for a split second and goes away. I do hope it was the PSU and not all Enermax's do that because I would have RMA'ed for nothing.

Curious should I let the parts collect dust till I get it back or would it be ok to run a Thermaltake 420watt until I get the PSU back?

Cool

But is anyone here using this or another PSU with same wattage and 18amps on the 12v and using a DFI NF4 Ultra-D? I def won't o/c till I get the enermax.

Actually, I would get something in the area of 500 Watt. You are running a lot of stuff. The graphics card alone takes up a ton. I have a very similar system, and I couldn't survive on 400 some watts.

It really depends on the quality of your PS. It should be fine at 420 though. As long as your not OC'ing or playing a game for 10 hours(i dunno what that has to do with the PS but i've heard running intensive things for a long time cause cause problems on crappy PS's), you should be fine.

You'll be getting your other one back in a week or so, so I really don't see the problem in running your system for a bit with what you have. Also, you'll be able to tell if everything else you ordered is working fine or not early too.

Soltek K8AN2E-GR motherboard
A64 3400+ cpu
2x512MB PC3200 ram
2 ATA133 hard drives
2 optical drives
X800 Pro video card
Leadtek tv tuner card
Microsoft wireless optical usb keyboard/mouse
2 120mm case fans

All of which runs absolutely perfect on an Antec True380 PSU. The 420W unit the OP has will do fine.

*Applause*

I know the feeling. Putting together a rig is an awesome feeling.

k cool I will just leave everything I don't need unhooked untill I get it back. I think 485 is plenty for a non high end Sli system. Is dual rail with 18amps on each rail.

If I start having any problems that seem like its PSU related I will just unhook it and wait.

Check your board for damage, quite a few are coming damaged under the place where the Karajan Audio module is packed. It sits right on top of the board when the box is closed. Have fun!

Yeah I heard about that. Thats gonna be the first place I look. I sure hate to RMA the board if it comes damaged. Although power/reset ain't really needed to run the board I don't think but for $142.50 I want a undamaged board.

Like they said, your 420 will be fine for now, but a quality 480-500 would make me sleep easier on a performance machine.

Some of the power/LED pins have been getting messed up too. I agree, shell out that kind of money for a new board, it better be PERFECT.

yay just came home and to my suprise I got everything today. Was expecting my CPU from zipzoom today and the mobo and cooler from Newegg tomorrow. I kept hearing alot of ppl getting their stuff a day early from newegg and I've had it happen a couple times buying stuff for family on there.

Still debating if I want to bother using this Thermaltake just got 18amps on the 12v. Its just my backup PSU anyway.

What sucks is I decided to get my PSU a week or 2 before my other stuff. But it backfired and I ended up having to ship it back. mwave is suppose to have it Monday and their site says they ship replacement within 24/48 hours so I am guessing it will be next Friday/Saturday before I get it.
