Congrats!

I've been married for 17 years myself...don't let the angry woman haters here get to you. It takes hard work on both your parts to stay married through the years but honestly I think it's worth it. I love my wife and our son.

Oh, and pics of the wife! ;)

My deepest condolences.

If you haven't been through the ceremony yet, it's not too late to RUN FOR THE HILLS!!

If you've already "tied the knot," then you've already been fitted with the old ball & chain. It'll probably chafe for a while, but take heart, the chafing doesn't last long. You'll build up scar tissue. :p

In my almost 35 years of marriage to the same woman, I've learned a few things.

1) the best way to get the last word in a fight or disagreement is to say "Yes dear."

2) I am the boss in my house and have her permission to say so.

3) On the occasion when the dinner she prepares doesn't turn out perfectly, eat it any way and tell her, "Just right."
I've eaten some TERRIBLE "experiments" over the years. MOST turn out well,, (she's a great cook and even better baker) but once in a while.....<gag & puke>

4) Don't buy into the "Never go to bed mad" bullshit. If you do, you'll only have a lot of sleepless nights. :D

5) Accept the fact that quite often, even when you're right, YOU'RE WRONG! It's a fact of married life...just accept it.

I appreciate the kind words, and the other stuff that made me laugh. Everything went very well and we are now packing for our flight and heading out.

Once we have pics back from the photographer, I'll post something. I mean, if I'm going to post pics, I want to post (the only) professionally taken pics we have. It's hard to make me look good, and I married up, I will say. Yeah, so basically I need one where I don't look goofy.

Anyhow, cheers!

Congrats. I got married the day after Thanksgiving. Married life is the best. Ignore the jaded and bitter posters. They obviously didn't marry the right person or have a juvenile outlook on relationships.

You've been married for 3 weeks. You are still in the honeymoon stage of the marriage.

I swear I nearly passed out when it came down to saying the "I Do's" I took a look out at all the people seated staring up and my bride to be and me and thought about all that hard work and planning we had put into this single moment for a solid year and it nearly overwhelmed me, got kind of weak in the legs and nearly went over but bounced back after my bride to be saw all this on my face and squeezed my hands and said "are you ok?" snapping me back into the moment.

:p

On the flip side, when my kid was born I never once felt like I was going to pass out and I watched the whole thing, cut the cord, etc.

See, for me it was the kid being born where I almost passed out. :D
