This just arrived in the mail today. First time configuring a Dell Powerconnect Switch, should be interesting. Once I'm comfortable with the setup I will replace my daisy chained Dlink switches. TBH those dlinks did serve their purpose well though, I just wanted something rackmount and manageable so I can do vlans and stuff. Will clean up the rack a little too.

 
Turns out she's a no go. Lesbian. I need a female to female cable! A gender changer will work too. Going to have to check local stores tomorrow see if I find anything. Worse case scenario I might just make my own cable. Buy two serial cables and just splice one to the other to get the two ends I want.

Need more switches too, so I can get into some spanning tree action.

Not everyone can afford Cisco or Juniper for at home. 😛 Got this for under 200 bucks shipped, not counting the random customs bill I will be getting in a few months from now. I'm hoping it will be under 100 bucks. Always a gamble to order a good deal off ebay when it's from the states.

Rare to find a good deal here. 🙁 People here would not be selling something like this. They'd be using it in production. Everything here cost like 2x more than what it cost in the states despite our dollar being par or sometimes even higher. We get screwed.
