I am trying to help a friend. When you go into an email you lose connection with internet. He has dialup. PeoplePc . He has had the system at leat a year without this problem.
I would suggest a simple solution. Get of dialup and find a faster connection alterative. Unless of course he lives out in the middle of nowhere and doesn't have cable or DSL availible to him.
It has nothing to do with the speed of dial up. It is almost like a crash except only the connection is immediately lost. I t worked fine for more than a year.Remember,If email is not used there is no loss of internet service.
So this is upon opening specific e-mails or all of them. Does it not lose connection upon logging into the e-mail inbox? There is a lot of variables here. Possibly his dial-up company would have more details and would know why exactly the connection is dropping.
I guess the first thing we need to know is what email client is he using? Is the email coming threw the web browser or is it set for an application like outlook to retrieve it?
