Getting IFSMGR (01) Error, please help.

I am running Windows Me and am getting IFSMGR (01) error ( more specifically IFSMGR (01) +00004COD 0D 0028 : C00374C1)every once and while. I do not see any pattern in this sometimes I get it when I am running Microsoft Word other times when i am running Excel, Defrag., or while its just siting there. I want to keep this computer but any suggestions are welcomed even beating the hell out of it.
