This is probubly a huge shot in the dark, but I thought I'd ask anyways. Back a few years ago I heard someone mention that there are groups, companies, and organizations (including the US Gov) that will give you a grant if you can prove need so as to help you get out of debt. Is this something that exists or was that just one of those money scam hoaxes from years ago? If it's real, I've got a friend who I know who could really use it to get himself out of debt. Heck, I wouldn't mind using it to clear out a few old debts of mine.

Anyone know if this is true? If so, where could I find the information? And don't say Google. I need solid links and information. :) Thanks!!

i think the best approach would be to work more/earn more
spend less, put the difference toward the debt

hehe. I'm doing that and I know that HE's most definatley doing that too. But I also know that at one time I heard about programs out there that supposidly helped you get out of debt if you were in financial need.

If you become a teacher in an economically deprived area and/or work with disabled children the government will repay some of your student loans.

Join the Air Force. Cross into the Blue! :)
The recruiter told me that you can go overseas and import a car from there.

True, but with dwindling state budgets, some of those programs *may* be in jeopardy.
