Sore for one day. No real pain. Done in the Dr's office.

Was given the choice of having a nurse or myself help with the procedure.

Can you get the nurse to help with the check up visit?

had it done in 1999. its great no more babies by my loins :D

the only problem i had was about 2 months later, seconds after i would nut, it would feel like my balls were in a vise clamp. the pain got pretty bad and would last for about 5 minutes. went to the doc and she poked around and said its proably scar tissue and gave me a months supply of motrin to take 3 times a day. i did that and no more pain after i nut.

I don't like the sound of that at all.

A friend of mine had it done. Said it felt like someone slammed his boys into a hurt locker. He was walking around all bow-legged for about a week. I think I'd rather have my wife get it done into of me, after seeing what he went through!

I have had it done twice!

Yes, 2 times. The first time, the doc missed one and I had to have it done again about 2 months later! :(

Don't ever walk out after it's done and say "Thank God I don't have to do that again!"

The needle hurt more than the prodecure (both times). Burned when it was being injected!

see the needle is what gets me. i can handle the pain but i am terrified of needles.

ditto here... I can't stand needles. The worst part was having an IV inserted into my arm. However, I also donate blood - the needle for donating blood is bigger. So, it's really not that big of a deal.

IV in arm? I'm talking about the six inch needle stuck each side of your sack! No general anasthesia here...only a local...in each side!!!! :(

Yeah... I'm thinking I'd need some laughing gas or valium or morphine or something before they used those needles. Hell, when I was ten or so and had to get a tetanus shot, they had to bring in three orderlies to hold me down, even after strapping me to the table. And that was just in my ARM.

This is what I am trying to avoid. Technically it should be easier on me than on her.

Wow.. do you have ANY idea what's involved with Women getting their tubes tied? It's far more invasive and poses other risks. Seriously, man up.

You're trying to avoid getting your boys slammed into a hurt locker, or trying to avoid having your wife do it?

My sister had it done instead of by brother-in-law. She said it wasn't that bad for her.

Well, since the wife and I don't even have children yet, this is a moot point. We may end of have quintuplets. :)
