Yeah, I've ridden a couple of centuries on that bike as well as commuting and weekend rides.

It is sitting here next to my desk as I type this.

Get the Black and then change the tape.

Awesome bikes Jules! I would like to get a nice bike like that, but got a REI hybrid last year since I go on some gravel trails every once in a while.

I don't really like either color or designs but i guess I would go with black and then change the color the tape on the bars...

I guess there is no beating my Bianchi SEAFOAM green tho...you can all just be in envy.

That's "celeste" to you, punk. Celeste!!! Ain't no freakin' seafoam green on a Bianchi. Seafoam would be a horribly ugly color. Celeste, on the other hand, is classically beautiful.

Yeah, I've always liked Bianchi bikes but to me a Colnago would be the ultimate. I could really go for a new LOOK 595 though...man, that's one sweet bike!

Well, cycling shorts are actually very comfortable to ride in. Who gives a crap what anyone else thinks? Besides, nobody with half a brain is going to notice anyway. There are so many cyclists around here that everyone has seen guys in cycling clothing many many times. It's really no big deal.

Every once in a great while some angry mullet with homosexual tendancies in a lifted truck or a camaro will make some stupid remark but I just shrug off idiots like that.

Yup. I thought cycling shorts were FTL until I started cycling. Turns out they're FTW. I wear my spandex shorts even when mountain biking down the scary stuff with a full-face helmet and armor.

And cycling gear on fit female cyclists? Holy cow! Gives a guy a reason not to get dropped.

No kidding. Drafting a beautiful, fit, woman on a nice road bike is the best! The miles just roll by. :p

Edit-I remember one day riding down the coast last fall and this older woman hops on my wheel for a few miles then she comes up along side me and offers to pull for a while. I said sure but when she took the lead I couldn't keep up. She dropped me! I was pulling along at 20+mph at that point too.

Actually I was just joking, I already have a pair of Pearl Izumi cycling shorts and am about to get a second pair so I don't have to wash so often.

I would get the white one. I had a black Allez a couple of years ago. It's anonymous, so people barely notice if you get dropped. :p

Both my bikes are red now though. :)

I have a pair of REI's with real chamois and a pair of walk-style shorts with attached innerliner and real pockets. Chamois butter for rides over 12 miles (off-road)

I voted for white.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, I won a few bicycle races on a "Team issue, Pestige framed, full Dura Ace Allez". Thing was burnt orange, step angles... I always had fond memories of that bicycle.

Well, technically I already have a road bike so this is not my first. It's just the first one I'm buying new. My old bike is a 20 year old Schwinn that's taken a huge beating.

The Allez isn't a bad bike for the money. He could probably find a nicer bike buying used but it might take a while to find one that fits him well.

I like black. I already had a white bike. JM's comment about the chain making a mess of things is right on. If you're a clean freak, it'll bug you.
