Getting error message with Kyro II and XP

when I install the driver.. there comes an error with pmxinit.exe something, I have no idea, even I successfully installed the driver, the error comes out everytime when the OS starts.

What version kyro 2 drivers are you using?

I am using the newest driver. The problem coming out is I can't go into the advance tab in display windows in control panel, I can't change refresh rate, I cannot play Temple demo but the direct X 3d runs fine, the error message I get is "pmxinit.exe" something and pmxapi.dll soemthing

go to the forums at hercules.com. Hercules and powervr employees regularly view and post there, and you are more likely to get the right answer.

best thing to do, is uninstall the driver..

goto safe mode, and find if there are any traces in device manager..

search the registry.. delete any mentions of kyro

then when you boot back into windows.. cancel the prompt of new hardware..

then install the newest drivers..

I installed the powervr drivers and works like a charm, have not installed the hercules..

I used both the PowerVR and the Hercules...only difference is...as expected...Hercules adds their name on it...duh. But no problems on either...other than that bug with XP where it only gives me the choice of choosing Windows Classic style. Do what Daemon_UK suggested and start off clean again. If not... you should check paraknowya.com.

I found out that the card works very well in 3D but I just the logo crash me everytime when start the OS. the file pmxinit.exe and pmxapi.dll crash as well. therefore I cannot set refresh rate.
