Getting error message during Prime95 torture test...

I have tried to run the torture test many times and each time it stops at different spots and says something about rounding and that I have a possible hardware failure? My rig does not crash or anything, just Prime 95 stops. What gives? If I was not stable it would crash or something..no?

Not necessarily. Most errors are small enough that Windows will just ignore them (if it even notices, which is doubtful). Prime95 is specifically designed to catch any error.

Sounds like a CPU math error. Could be caused by overheating. If I were you I would back it off a notch and see if it goes away... another thing to try is just leave your case open, that often gives you a lot more thermal headroom. Good luck!

I don't think it is overheating cause it never went over 90F and the room temp was 79F....

Still worth a try for your own knowledge. My 550E at 800+ would not let me run one application 100% stable even though it was not even warm to the touch. I backed it down to 550 and have never had a problem (but it's only in the one app.)

Even leaving your case open can give a lot more thermal headroom.

If I just ignored the Prime95 error I get with my P3 650 @ 975MHz, I'd be running it at that speed. The bottom line is that Prime95 did detect an error and it is a sign of instability. I see that your CPU is grossly overclocked with a heafty voltage increase. I'm thinking thats the problem. From the looks of it, it seems like you just want to be above 1GHz. Set it to a speed that doesn't give you the error.
