I've already got three computers here at home on a 100mb/s network....and i've got the dsl modem.....and i'm going to buy a router(probably the linksys 1 port one) do i have to run my computers on the DCHP thing to have them get to the outside(WAN) and have the router assign them IP's? If so will they be able to see eachother on the network?

DSL > DSL Modem > Router > HUB > Computers ???

Win98se on all machines

yeah, you need to set them for DHCP

and yes, they'll see each other on the network through the hub assuming their workgroups are the same

<< Hubs, routers, switches, DSL, LANs. etc. >>

thanks a bunch! Though, by surfing through there a bit, i came accross a thing about ECS....that's not an option in my control panel....ERR???? I was quite sure i had win98se.....whats wrong? Currently i'm running a software proxy...that works just fine....but with dsl, will the router take care of all this and i wont' need to worry? thanks
