Getting drunk from Guiness beer?

JEDI

Lifer
I drank a 6pack of Guiness bottles in an hr. i dont even have a buzz.

i drink a pitcher of Miller lite in an hr and i got a major buzz on.

Do people not get drunk off of Guiness?

that's because it has 4.1% alcohol. lower than that other garbage. If you want to get drunk off beer get your self a good double ipa.

This. Get a few good Ales in you then see what happens.

However have 7 pints of guinness then tell me you're not drunk.

6 pack of draught or stout? Guinness stout is fairly high in alcohol.

It's possible you don't feel drunk because you went into it determined that you wouldn't feel drunk. It is therefore your autopilot making that post.

Even when I don't "feel drunk", my autopilot makes me in a cab and sends me home when I've had enough 🙂

you see, are drinking the wrong stout.

Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout. About 10% ABV.
Absolutely delicious. 🙂

IPAs are absolutely garbage. They taste like pine-sol.

But some people prefer IPAs to stouts and porters. I, on the other hand, appreciate the fine complexities of the different varieties of malted barley, versus the complexities of the perfumey hops.

I like malty beers versus hoppy beers, in other words.
And one can get super-high ABV beers that are on the malt side of the beer spectrum just as easily. 🙂

IPAs are wonderful. A nice crisp bitter flavour with a soapy head. mmm. Of course I probably like stouts the best though. Anything with a nice strong flavour will do nicely.

IPA's are definitely an acquired taste. If you haven't really had many, you definitely aren't going to like a double IPA, or pretty much anything over 7%.

Although you might like Dogfish Head's 90 minute IPA destrekor. It's a strong IPA, but it's also very malty.

After six of these I'm happy as a clam.

Yes. That stuff gives me baaad dreams.

An easier drinking, high ABV is Sam Adams Imperial White ale. 10.3% and goes down smooth.

Black and Tan is awesome!

That said, I'm disappointed that more ATOT'ers don't brew their own beer. Come on guys... it's not hard! You can get one of those "Mr. Beer" home brewing kits for $30, and work your way up from there.

I can't stand IPA at all. I had accidentally drank one out of a vareity pack and threw them all away like the nasty tasting jelly beans they were

The only IPA's I've had tasted like I was drinking Vick's vapor rub. Gross.

I'm not a fan of IPAs, so if I need something strong I go with Harpoon Brewery's Leviathan Series (all 10%+, multiple varieties).

Russian Imperial Stout has one of the higher abv's. Guiness has one of the lowest. If your aim was to get drunk, all you succeeded in was showing how little you know your beer 😉

Scotch ftw

I can't get drunk off Guiness cause it tastes like ass. Thus, I have to drink it slowly in short bursts.
