Where can I check someones criminal records, nationalwide or just state for free?
Isnt this public knowledge

This is in Canada so it may not be the same at all.. but I recently got a new job and I had to have a criminal record check done. I had to go somewhere and pay $20 to get it done, and they gave me a certificate saying that I had a clean record

I thought this stuff was supposed to be public knowledge though? Why do I have to pay.

This girl I know is trying to find the criminal background of someone who is stealing buisness from her parents.

Call the FBI and ask. Seriously. If it is public knowledge, they will be able to give you the information on how to get it, and probably for free. If its not, you will have to do what others do. Lie.
