I've had a few people who have done it tell me that WOCS (Warrant Officer Candidate School) is a total mind fvck though. It doesn't worry me because I thought basic training was fun, but I guess we'll see.

I agree on the rising eagle, it was a dumb change and really didn't accomplish anything. All the while, they're talking of removing branch insignia from the new uniforms anyway.

Never considered switching over to anything but what I'm doing now. When I originally came in I considered aviation for a while, but MP was a better choice for me at the time.

Good luck with the Warrant Officer packet and school. Hopefully I will get to meet ya in the next two years when I actually become an officer :)

Hey, I'm just saying what a large percentage of those in the armed forces are thinking (though I did add the redneck part for humor) :p

I know, but I had to add to some sarcasm to it :)

I'm surprised someone who might get into MI knows how to spell "sarcasm", never mind use it correctly in a sentence. I would have thought their screening process would have tossed you out long ago ;)

As a former Army Officer myself, the best advice I can give you is to learn to rely on your NCO's. They have the experience and knowledge needed to complete the mission. This was the hardest thing for me to learn, since I wanted everything done perfectly and timely. Sometimes you can't have both, and it took me a while to learn this. Your first several years as an officer should be spent just learning from a Senior NCO.

Even if you outrank them, you need to almost take a subordinate role with these guys. Hopefully you'll be hooked up with a good E7 that is willing to work with you.

Also, remember that NCO's can and do make or break an Officer's career, so treat them well. If they know you are loyal to them, they will follow you anywhere and will bend over backwards to make you look good and help you out. If they think you're an arrogant fvck looking only to forward your career, they'll fvck you over and hang you out to dry.

Don't make the mistake of pestering these guys to death after giving an order. Give them a task then let them work, that's what they want and need from you.

Good advice jemcam. The USMC is exactly the same in that regard.
