If you think they are sabotaging anything then you aren’t paying attention.
Pelosi sabotaged a great progressive candidate, Jessica Cisneros, in my house district (TX-28) by campaigning with and making robocalls for crooked right wing Henry Cuellar to push him across the finish line by 289 votes in the primary runoff in 22. That punk ass bitch Clyburn did too. Also ROFL at Schumer getting two Republicans in the suburbs to cross over for every working class voter he lost the Democrats.

It's important to remember that CEOs and the super wealthy don't really have any convictions or true beliefs of their own. Their only belief is to do whatever increases their wealth and power. Once you accept that, it's easy to see why they act the way they do. It's why they have fully embraced the alternate reality of maga now, and why they went all in on equality and inclusion a decade ago. Whatever makes them more money.

That drive for power is the natural progression of a market system that doesn't have strong enough guardrails, of which have been slowly dissembled by the same people they were meant to control. Barring some unlikely alliance between the left and right working class, I'm not sure how you go about rebalancing the lobsided power dynamic right now. My only hope is that with the new administration being staffed and aided by multiple billionaires, the facade of not being oligarchy is finally off for all to see.
There is one way, but it won't happen until 20-30 years from now when global warming is bringing us levels of famine that people are starving to death in the streets in our shithole nation.

By “progressive drive” I figured he was referring to legislation.

Could also refer to the Obamacare healthcare profits since..

This cartoon is so freaking stupid.

First, there are always going to be people to treat. Second, a cure puts all treatments out of business.

I don't see iron lungs being mass produced since the polio vaccine. Hepatitis C can be cured in 95% of people with modern drugs. Etc....

So Joni Ernst, who had seemed to come out strongly against the drunk rapist for defense secretary, is getting in line and voting to confirm. Of course. These people lack character already just to even be Republicans, and then you have musk threatening to finance primaries against them, of course they're all going to fall in line because they have no character.

Joni Ernst literally a survivor of sexual harassment in the military, voting for a sexual harassing misogynist pig whose own mother called him disgusting basically for how he treated women.

This country is really fucked.

She was never going to buck Trump like Collins or Murkowski have before. And yes Hegseth is incredibly unqualified for the post and that is likely to end badly for himself and America generally.

Rs complaining about "DEI hires" while putting forward a man that should not be trusted to run a McDonalds and is blind drunk by breakfast is pretty rich. The entire Trump Admin is DEI for less than mediocre white sex pest christian nationalists.

Disagree. She may have on this one specifically. But when you have billionaire's basically saying we'll finance all the primarying against you it takes, people with a little moral character will lose it totally.

Republicans don't give two fucks, and I don't think Democrats are going to convince them if they just find the right combination of words.

Democrats need to play to the public. Speak genuinely and play to people's emotions to build the public outrage that may at least move the needle.

Who is saying to try to reach Republicans? Just curious. Haven't seen that.

I struggle with figuring out that is going to be. People seem more receptive to "keeping males out of women's sports" than people shouldn't be bankrupted by medical care.

People get angry but they get most angry about edge cases.

Maybe not here, but plenty of arm chair pundits on social media.
Fuck those people. We are here. I want the Dems to speak more plainly for the public and not at all for the Trumper party public. For those who voted for Kamala, and for the millions that did not vote, including those who did vote for Biden in 2020 but stayed home this time.

There's a well organized brown shirt brigade that probably already has started making her life hell. That's how they do this.

Don't expect me to feel sorry for her..

Should we be surprised if she's competing for a darwin award when she's the one who chose to swim with the sharks!

Hegseth was the one nominee I was sure would NOT be Senate confirmed. I couldn’t see someone like Tom Cotton actually rooting for the guy. But now we know better.

Republican loyalty by priority:

1. Billionaire mega donors (nationality/source of funds a non-factor) and their dark money networks (Musk etc.)
2. Heritage Foundation and similar ilk
3. Trump
4. Private equity/hedge funds and portfolio companies run by right-leaning megadonors
5. Pastors/churches donating to right-aligned causes

9. Anyone not in 1 or 4 that owns a right-aligned media company (Murdochs, Alex Jones, Tucker C etc.)
12. The NRA
19. The rest of the Republican Party

33. Their mistresses/fuck bois
34. Their families
68. Whatever definition of “God/Jesus” suits their current whims
85. Their rich “friends”
96. Putin, Orban and any other dictators they hope to emulate some day
104. Their white friends
356. Their non-white friends
442. The Constitution as originally written
996. The United States of America

Obama attending Trump's inauguration is pathetic. What a fucking putz. Biden too. All just a bunch of yahoos.
