This guy Ron is giving out my cell phone number as his to creditors and such. he has been writing bad checks and giving them my number.

i am getting like 5-10 calls a day. I keep telling them i do not know who he is and he does not live here but they keep calling me!

its getting annoying

I have also been getting weird calls recently...from 512 area code, asking for Daniel

I ask "what number are you calling?" and he reads it back to me, but its def not my number......some kinda call forwarding thing maybe?

My wife kept getting calls on her cell phone in regards to the guy who had the number previously. Some kind of ag businesman who scammed a lot of people, wrote bad checks, and apparently had terrible credit, yet was able to continue scamming people. She'd get 2-3 calls per week, often from the same people, who wouldn't believe she wasn't associated with this guy...finally, she had her number changed to get it to stop.
I guess I can't blame the people, trying to get stuff straightened out/collect on bad checks, etc, but it was annoying and frustrating. Cops said they couldn't do anything (hoped they could go after the scammer for his illegal activities ) unless the businesses affected filed charges, so changing the number was her only option.

Weird. I have had my mobile number for at least 4 years. Last week I got about 2-3 calls a day during business hours asking for Alex (not even close to my name). I asked them what number they were calling and they read back my number. I told them that they had my mobile number, but there was no Alex.

After the 3-4 days, the calls finally stopped.

I am glad I did not have to change my number.

Every month I get a call or two on my home phone telling me I'd better call or else. Apparently, some asshat with the exact same name as mine (and my name is not common at all) has craptastic credit. And they're stupid enough to ask me if my SSN is the one they have on file.

When I first got my cell I would recieve automatic calls from a voicemail service of the person who the number before me. They get a new voicemail at work and it would call my phone. I tried calling that place back but that didnt work, so I just got into her voicemail account and changed the number it called.
