WAHOO! Finaly got Cable in my area. Having it hooked up friday and have a ? .Does the condition of your coax cable effect your speed? and if any of you have any tips or links to good sites to suggest I would appreciate it
 
I think its your regular tv coax, its black unless the installer runs different cable from the brodband terminal box whitch is about 40 yards away.

Charter Cable, here in Wisconsin. The tech replaced the drop to my house just because it was drooping, he put new cable all the way to the comp room. Talk to the installer/tech that comes out. Most are pretty good about the questions. I followed my guy all over and just asked questions. That is how I knew I was the only Pipeline(internet) connection on the closest node. Not anymore though.🙁

The cable is RG-6. Nothing special.
