Getting bored... When are the die shrink i7s and next gen video cards coming?

I've had my Core i7 and GTX 280 SLI system since November. It's been great, but the upgrade bug is hitting me again. The only problem is there really isn't anything to upgrade to. Any word on when new nVidia or Ati cards are coming out? How about new exciting CPUs and motherboards? I suppose I could try playing with RAID-0 again.

Grab GTX 295 and SLI it. Other than that gaming performance using i7 is virtually identical to C2Qs

Edit: And looking at your games list, you don't have anything that would remotely push SLI GTX 280 or i7 for that matter.

I still need better hardware. Need.

Virtually identical does not equal identical. A dual core Core 2 is virtually identical to a quad core Core 2 in gaming if you put it that way.

I don't get the mentality, but ok. Have fun spending money 🙂

I have the perfect money sink for you sir. Get as many of these babies in raid 0 as you can and your upgrade glitch will be 100% fulfilled.

Now shoo.

Pretty much right, although this is a better value (relatively speaking, of course).

If you've read the SSD articles you'll know these drives are actually faster than the WD VelociRaptors, especially if you raid0 a few of them on a good controller card. This is the one upgrade you will actually notice, even considering the system you've already built.
