Just within the past day or two when I go to Bing (my home page), I get this:

Capture.PNG

I checked my hosts file and there's nothing in there. No other website does this, and my Internet seems fine otherwise.

I can't think of any reason why this would be occurring. I logged into my router and released and renewed my IP address but that didn't do anything.

Really strange. Unless of course you guys are getting this too, lol. I've tried just "http" (without the 's') but that immediately forwards to "https" and I get the same error.

I use Bing every day and it has worked fine. Firefox has been adding a ton of privacy stuff lately. I normally tweak my settings so I have no idea how a default FF installation would act.

I do know I have to allow a 3rd party cookie to actually log in microsoft's store and xbox. I block 3rd party cookies so it's a pain in the butt.

Maybe you could try a different dns service.

Seems to work. However I typed "google" in Bing.

If the internet breaks it might be my fault.

Ah yeah it works for me too, I'm on my Surface Pro and it loaded up fine. Huh. Firefox may have installed an update recently on my desktop PC but I dunno why that would do anything. Guess I'll have to investigate moar.

I don't know how you can stand it. I only use Bing because it gets me MS reward points (XBOX cards for my kids), but the search results are terrible. Their maps is so inferior to Google Maps also. I just can't deal for much longer...

I'm also using Bing for rewards. It's been a long time since I've paid for xbox live gold plus I was able to convert over two years worth of Gold to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for only $1. Duckduckgo is my home page though. To be honest I'm not happy with any of the search engines I have used because they completely ignore some of the keywords I use.

I use it just because of the rewards. Meh, I don't have a problem with the search results. I've searched Google for the same thing sometimes and the results ain't much different. IMO anyway. I always find what I'm looking for when I search. For maps I do use Google Maps though. I've used Bing Maps a couple times and they seemed alright but I really don't any experience with it so I can't provide a very good opinion of it.

Well Internet Explorer has the same result when trying to go to Bing. I looked through Task Manager running apps/services and don't see anything weird or any malware. I guess I'll look through my router settings but I don't know what the heck I'm looking for. Argh. Why the f would this just stop working all of a sudden? F'ing computers.

Well I took a look at router settings. Looks fine to me. I tried pinging www.bing.com and that works fine. fml

Duckduckgo is pretty much all I use now. Google started getting annoying with their whole "submit the search before you're done typing" bullshit. It could be turned off but it has to be done each time you are on a different computer. I don't know if it still does that or not.

Have you tried that "down for everyone or just me" site when the problem occurs? Might help with diagnosing the problem.

Here it is-
It's just me, and actually it works when I try it on my Surface Pro. Just on my desktop PC it doesn't work (Firefox or Internet Explorer). I dunno why. I have a feeling unless I format my rig it'll stay that way. Goddamnit

Check your browser for an extension you don't recognize. Do you have any security extensions that could be blocking Bing?

Try the following website:
www.microsoft.com

If it does not load, then it is definetly a virus. The reason why it could be a virus, and why the virus would be doing this is because that's where Windows Updates come from. Basically there could be a virus that is preventing Windows from installing security updates.

Yep, checked my extensions, none were weird and all I use/have normally.

I will do that. I have the built-in Windows Defender anti-virus (I think that's the name?) and that hasn't said anything but perhaps it's a virus that's "smart" enough to bypass it. I'll definitely check that later when I'm home, thanks.
