Getting an external CD Drive

My laptop's cd drive is dying and I was going to get it replaced but it'll cost around $270 to $300. The laptop is basically my desktop so I'm not looking to carrying it around. I did some searching and is currently looking at getting a Sony 530UL. Any suggestions for other drives? What do you think of the Sony 530UL?

If you have a USB 2.0 port or 1394, just get an external hard drive enclosure and buy an internal drive. It is a lot cheaper. You can get an external enclosure for about $30, and a DVD writer, nec2500A for $70 from newegg. I recommend USB 2.0 or firewire port. USB 1.0 is slow.
