I have an Epox 8RDA+ on the way after my power supply cooked my old mobo. Anyway. I have an 1800+ and 2x256MB Crucial PC2100. I am using an Alpha PAL8045 and have 2 different cpu fans to pick from. A loud one and a quiet one. WIth my faster fan(which is an 80mm tornado) how fast can I expect to be able to get my cpu and ram going?
thanks,
-doug

It's 8RDA+ ;)

If you've got the Palamino core 1800+, then you may be able to get it up to about XP2200+ levels. If you have a Thoroughbred, then you may be able to get 2400+ or higher levels.

You can get as high as 2200+ levels with a pally? I could run at 2000+ speeds MAX on my 1800+ pally.. they are not good overclockers. :p

I said may! ;) OK, more likely about 2100+ levels, but maybe! But, i agree, they weren't very good overclockers. Nothing like my 1700+ TBred B, which is sitting at 2.1Ghz, for 2600+ levels :D

Um, You may find that your PC2100 will hold you back a lot more than a slower fan would.
