Ok, my Xp OS really screwed up and I can't even boot it. So on the same pc, just dual boot with Xp again. ok, so here's the real problem. I got my liteon cd burner a while back and it came bundled with nero. Now that installed nero again, it's asking me for my serial. Which I don't know where i got it in the first place. But I went here, to find out what to do. Now i have to find a way to get into my old registry to get that serial number. Does anyone know how I can get the serial number? Remember, my previous OS won't boot up. I have already tried to fix it by trying these directions.. But it still won't work. And all i really need is the serial key. Then i'm going to reformat.

Yes, my version of nero is legal. But it's oem and came with my liteon drive. So nero doesn't know i have a legal version. They charge 19 for a new serial number. Thinks for the link Beau6183. But i've already tried that. In the recovery console i can't can't even delete the config folder. It's all messed up. I've tried everything for days, just to get it working again. B/c i'm getting a new video card, I was already planning to reformat. So I'm not to interested in getting the os to work again. But I do need my nero serial key, or else...:(

Did you install nero using the included CD or did you download the "update" and use that. Normally if you install using the CD it should automatically use the serial they setup (if that makes any sense)
