Getting a nice little bonus...

I'm getting a $1600 bonus.

I'm debating on a few things:

save it (or invest)
purchase some killer new pc parts
purchase another hand gun? (H&K USP 357sig subcompact)

or

...? any ideas?

sounds like profit sharing 😉 Walmart or Sams Club?

We are getting $1056 this year.

Dont forget they tax the HELL out of it, youll lose about 40%.

Hand gun, hand gun!

Hand guns are great toys, because they never lose their value (unless you beat them up). You can always go to a gun show and get 95% of your money back.

Do you have a girlfriend/wife? If so, send her some flowers or make a nice dinner she likes.

Do you have a home theater? You can nab up some nice Polk speakers and get a decent Harmon Kardon receiver to go with it.

Do you have any schooling to pay for?

EDIT: In regards to the Polk speaker deals, check out Hot Deals. They're in there a lot these days.

I work for Kaiser, we get a yearly bonus for area performance.

🙂

I don't have a home theatre (dont have the room), but I will be moving soon...perhaps I can put it away until I can make room? I was looking at projectors too.

hey, I make ends meat here. The bonus is just enough to keep us from going postal. 🙂

at 26 I should be making more (with my college degree), they finally bumped me to 20.50 /hour...and it's still not enough!

man my profit sharing bonus would have been like $5,000 if i had been working here for a full year (i graduated last may and started working last september).

since I had only worked for about 4 months i received about $1600, but if i had been here a year i would have gotten 3x that 🙁.

anyways, go save some of it or spend it on something nice! i'm personally using mine to go to Aruba w/my GF in the summer 🙂. its pretty cool already having it paid for 😀

If you're just making ends 'meat'. Perhaps you need to consider a new butcher.

Seriously, save at least 50% of it. You'll be glad you did later.

Put it into a Roth IRA if you don't have one already
(or the devil in me says the projector 🙂 )

1600 was after taxes...

the projector (oh devil you!) is tempting.

perhaps I will save 800, spend 800 on a handgun>?

now the real question is, new? or used?

I'd bank it. You may need it! Trust me...with the way things are going, no one is saving cash anymore. I'd save it cause the economy isn't going to get better for another 4 years. 😉
