I placed an order for a new 2011 335i. Dealer said it is scheduled for early March production and from start of production to delivery ussally takes about 2 months. Here is what I ordered:

2011 BMW 335i coupe
Alpine White
Coral Red interior
Dark Glacier Aluminum trim
M-Sport package with upgraded 19 inch wheels
Convenience Package
Premium Package
BMW Bluetooth
Ipod Hookup
Harman Kardon sound system
Navigation
6 speed manual transmission

I took some screenshots of what it looks like from the BMW 'Build Your Own' tool:

Anything I can do during the wait? Days seems to go super slow now because I keep thinking about the car.

UPDATE: getting 335is instead

I'm not really a fan of the red interior but if you love it more power to you.

Also at that price ($55,500 MSRP) for all those options you should have just gotten an M3 but hope you enjoy the car.

just a base m3 starts at 58900 add in premium package and you're at $64k, not to mention other stuff he might want to add to the car.

Unfortunately there shouldn't be a 'base' version of a car that costs almost $60K but that the Euro/Bavarian way. :|

Sexy beast. But almost 60k OTD, daaaaaaayumn...

I mean, don't get me wrong. I think it's one of the best cars on the market (and one of the few that I'd want new). But it's still a crazy price for a non M car.

White on red is siiiiiiiick - love the combo!!

And don't worry about not getting an M3.. that's AT LEAST another $15k including the gas guzzler tax with the same options, not counting the higher insurance rates.

Lightly used and certified 2009's are going for ~50K in my area but I digress.

No point in comparing a brand new car with everything you could want in it to a used 2+ year old car with who knows what options...

common guys there is no way he paid MSRP for this car, its fairly easy to get a non M car for invoice + $1,000

For a custom order? I thought that's usually only for stuff that's sitting on the lot of the dealer. I was under the impression that if he wanted his car custom built to order, it would be pretty darn close to MSRP.

Astounds me that I know someone 2 years my senior who got a 333i ($40k to $50k) as a "graduation gift". And she got her tuition paid for my mommy and daddy too.

My neighbor gave there kid a brand new camaro ss last year for graduation and he wrapped it around a pole street racing 2 weeks later.
