Getting a Linksys router, need advice.

I'll be getting an ADSL connection in a few days, and wanted some advice on wich router to get. We use PPPoE in my country, with a software called WinPOET to connect to the DSL modem. I need a router compatible with this technology.
I've narrowed it down to two models, the BEFSR41 and the BEFSX41. Both have a 4 port swicth. The BEFSX41 has a built-in firewall, wich I would like very much. The BEFSR41 has a NAT "acting" as a firewall, what's the difference?

Routers have PPPOe built in them so you will not need WinPoet anymore.

Great. The WinPoet configuration is a pain in the ass. You end up with three LAN connections, a memory resident application and about 2 extra LAN adapters in the system. I suppose with the router there's nothing to configure in the PCs (maybe DHCP).
One more thing, I won't be gettin a static IP, and the ISP generally renew them every three days or so. Is it possible to configure the router to reconnect everytime the IP is down?
 
You could refer to the Routers as Level I, and the Level II. In the USA the BEFSX41 cost about $50 more then the BEFSR41. The main difference is in the capacity to control the Firewall. Read the specs of both to see what matters to you.

As for DSL:

Most of the DSL providers in the USA will not give you the ID, and password. They force you to install the "clunky" PPPOE software.

You have to plug one computer to the DSL modem (no Router) and install the PPPOE software, and establish a connection. Write down the ID and Password when they come up, and establish a valid connection.

Once it is done you can disconnect from the modem, put the router on the modem connect the computers to the router, call the router menu check the PPPOE entry, and type the id, and password in the appropriate menu. Once you get a connection, you can uninstall the PPPOE software.

The Router's PPPOE capacity is independent from the Computer, and it keeps the connection alive, and will automatically obtain an IP when needed.

Working through the Router should yield faster (5%-10%), and smoother Internet connection.

 
Yeah, this is a good price for the BEFSX41.

However in the USA you can find a new BEFSR1 for less than $50.
