Folks I'm getting an error message on startup that reads as follows:

The following file is missing or corrupted: C:\DOS\HIMEM.SYS
There is an error in CONFIG.SYS on line 1.

It doesn't seem to affect startup that much - just adds a bit of a delay, about an additional 30-40 seconds or so. Is there a way to fix this? Or will it not make that much difference? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Rick,

You can open config.sys and put: rem in front of the line that has himem.sys in it (or delete it entirely). Find config.sys when you're in windows, there may be a few of them, right click the one located in c:\ -- 'open with' then pick notepad. Fix the line as above then save it.
