My parents have a labradoodle and had to get her from Austraulia and it was like a 6 month waiting list and I got a golden retriever that is the best dog in the world, but sheds SO much..I think a Goldendoodle could be the perfect pet!!!!

The cost for the puppy is $900 and shipping is $200. The breeder is located in IL and is recommended on www.goldenoodle.com. Here is the breeders site

I've never heard of Goldenoodle...

only heard of them called Goldendoodle

Goldenoodle should be called "Campbell" like the soup

I don't know why you guys are hating on the poodle breeds. They are smart and have a long history as good hunting and working dogs. As long as you don't give them ridiculous haircuts, I don't see what the big deal is.

Good god. Maybe I really should start breeding Germuskies. Its a German Shepherd mix with a Husky. Its the perfect dog. Now give me $1k.

The dog will shed... Google the news groups and read up. To the OP I bought Jake my PB lab that has 6 generations of champion hunters for $600. Your quoted price is way out of line! There are a lot of oodle's on petfinder.com ... a front gateway to a ton of rescues throughout America. I did a quick search and found a bunch of Labadoodles but didn't put in the time to look for your breed... just search for poodles or Golden?s and page through. I?m not telling you what to do? the choice is yours but that price is just nuts.

Not all of us are. Am I a poodle lover? no but I would not want one or hold anything against any one that owns one. You are right that some of the poodle breads are great hunters. We have 3 in our club that are almost finished with all their certifications!
But answer me this one. What breeder of purebreds would mix their bloodlines, especially a good to great bloodline? None that I know of they would have the female spade before putting a dog out they know nothing about. There are plenty of mixes on the link I posted above that need and deserve a good home the world don?t need more of them.

One last thing is a good breeder should never sell over the net.... If I ever started breeding and I never will I would want to meet and judge the person I'm selling the dog to. If I don't like him/her no dog sorry. Besides how do you even know the dog takes to you?

Again read the Google groups for a ton of info on them and Labordoodles, same type of breed. http://groups.google.com/group...oodle#375aa96fbbc250e0

Darn, it seems they are breeding everything with a poodle these days to get their hyperallergenic non-shedding coats. What will they think of next...

yeap. we are dog sitting (but looks like we might keep) a labradoodle. its great it does not annoy my allergies

I would almost rather suffer with allergies and get a real lab, golden, whatever than get one of those hyper popular fuckadoodle dogs. Don't get me wrong I really love dogs I just hate poodles. I also hate the trendy small toy dogs everyone seem to love nowadays.

Man you are a man's man! i hope to be like you some day.

but i will enjoy my dog that does not bother my allergies and be girly man.

Locut0s i have to ask you. Do you have any idea what its like to have allergies? Have you ever been around a really cute kitty and had your eyes and throat well to the point you practically couldn't see and breathe? Have you ever walked outside and on a nice spring day been over powered by the pollen in the air and couldn't stop your eyes from watering/itching or stopped the nose running/sneezing? Have you ever been around something you're allergic to and just felt completely run down b/c your body is trying to combat the symptoms? Well if not you have no idea why someone would want a cross breed dog huH?

Evidently you missed my post above. I said that I have serious allergies to cats. I know EXACTLY what you are talking about and I was being mostly facetious to make the point that I don't like these types of dogs. I hold nothing against you for wanting one like I said above I love dogs but have fairly strong opinions on the types of dogs I like.

Well if someone can find me one cheaper please look. Petfinder has nothing listed and on www.goldendoodle.com they go for up to $3500. I can't count shipping in the cost b/c if i wanted to drive from arizona to IL i'd pay a crap load more than $200 in gas. I should also add that I found ONE at a pet store in Florida that wanted $2200 for it. I would then need to Fly there and back and buy it.

The wife just got herself a Schnoodle, (schnauzer + poodle) despite my protests, but I have to admit she's pretty cute and is growing on me. I refuse to take the dog out with the girly pink leash, and I forbid her from calling her a schnoodle in front of anyone we know.

We paid something like $275 for her.

I am simply amazed at these names.. Poodle is bad enough, but at least it has a few years of history behind it.

Why anyone would refer to their dog as a "Schoodle" or a "Goldenoodle" is beyond me. Well maybe a girl who thinks dogs are cute things that need cute names and cute bows around their necks. Why can't these dogs A) be referred to as a lab-poodle mix or B) be developed into a new breed with a name that isn't a combination of 2 other breed names. Congrats to the breeders who have tapped this cutesy undercurrent and made a killing breeding two super-common, inexpensive dogs together to produce mutts that are somehow special because they can be referred to as an "____oodle"

p.s. Did you even look into adopting a dog?

Yes i completely agree with the name of the breed and do wish they were called something else. For all of those out there saying, why are you getting a "designer" dog and what not I've said a few times in this thread that im allergic. I have 2 girls that deserve to have a puppy in which they want. We ALL wanted a golden retriever and i would have been more than happy to take one from a pound or adopt one if that was an option. But since i have my allergies i needed to look for a hypoallergenic dog and hope for the best. Worst case i have to get shots but it wouldn't be the first time in my life. I have looked in the local newspaper, craigslist, petfinder and various other places but NOTHING locally has a goldendoodle.
