Getting a digital photo enlarged?

I have a digital photo saved on my computer that i want to get enlarged. Where can i get this done?

I would want one bigger than an 8x10.

Oh yea did i say i would need it by next tuesday????? LOL

Those machines at Wal-Mart can make some big ass prints. I hate Wal-Mart though

dude its super easy. nearly any photo place around you can enlarge. Just put the file on any kind of disk, preferably floppy if it will fit. It should only cost ya a buck or two. And walmart does prints too. just upload them to their site and off you go

kinkos or a place that processe photos. Sams club will do it. And costco i think has well. My cousin had some 20*30 prints made out.

Kinkos is a rip. Much better off with a real photo place. Kinkos will bend u over AND take an arm and leg.

BTW, what kind of resolution is the photo taken at? I.E. with a 2 megapixel digital camera, etc. If the file is less than 1 MB as a jpg file, then its gonna look like @$$ as an 8x10. It ought to look fine on your screen as your monitor is lower resolution than a piece of paper.

As far a getting the print, wallmart may be a good idea. I would reccomend checking out www.shutterfly.com they are pretty reasonable and will ship you the print.

No way man. I've printed 500kb 1600x1200's at 8x10 and they look great. If you make some big prints like 16x20 or something, they will only look crappy closeup At 5+ feet away they should look pretty good.

1600x1200 is a 2 megapixel image. This usually looks ok printed in the 5x7 to 8x10 range. From there, file size is largely determined by the compression used on it. The majority of digital cameras produce a 2 megapixel image of ~1MB in size. My own Olympus takes pics anywhere from 600k to 1100k depending on the subject matter.
