Gshock888 is correct. The basic Dell computers (same as HP, IBM, Compaq, Gateway, etc) are all business only computers - they are NOT for gaming. Even Dell admits that on their website:

[*]"An entry-level PC with a balance of price and performance for productivity use" - Dimension 3000
[*]"Perform basic computing tasks with ease including Internet, email and productivity applications" - Dimension 2400

Compare that to what the others have listed:

[*]"The latest memory and graphics technology providing a vibrant multimedia experience for all your common home entertainment needs" - Dimension 4700
[*]"A powerful PC featuring the latest and greatest Intel P4 processors, PCI Express Graphics" - Dimension 8400
[*]"The ultimate power and design for hard core gaming" - Dimension XPS

I always recommend the Dimension 4700 for home users who will game and who care about price.

Get the Dimension 4700 as others have said.

hey gdshock, do you live in Elmhurst, New York?

I've visited that place many times when I travel to New York, which is several times a year. So what area in Elmhurst do you live in? :D

Ever been to Golden Q? Or do you live near Queens Center mall? Have you even been to Crowly Park or Hoffman park? lmao

Brings back memories of New York. Sigh.

I will be back!

The Dell Dimension 3000 does NOT have AGP or PCI-E.

Get a Dell Dimension 4600/4700/8300/8400 or build your own rig.

my parents place / where i used to live / where i go to eat now is elmhurst, which is an apt a block east of the now-renovated-and-expanded Queens Center. my dad is not working/semi retired so i just have everything shipped in to and out of there.
I moved out last year and live in Rego Park which is like a 20 minute walk from the mall/parents/elmhurst.

I used to live next to the Hoffman Drive behind St Johns hospital as a kid. so yeah i know Hoffman park lol.

:)

wow lol, totally amazing.

I know exactly where St John's hospital is, its in front of the newly renovated Queens Center Mall and also next to Hoffman park. I used to go to Hoffman park to play basketball and handball with my buddies :D.

ah the memories, so great. I so want to go back to New York City right now, especially Queens and other boroughs. The South, where I live, is also amazing, but nothing touches the atmosphere of NYC. I mean, there are so many people walking all at once. That is just one of the reasons why I love it so much.

Rego Park? Is that like near Forest Hills? I remember there is a Sears and Old Navy in that area, am I mistaken?

by the way, PS 102 rocks! :D
