Getting a CompUSA in my area.

Just read a sign today saying that CompUSA was going to be in my area in October. So are they any better than say Office Depot, Office Max, Best Buy, or Staples? Just hoping to have some better computer deals to shop around for.

compusa is about just as bad as bestbuy, they have a terrible returns policy (store credit ugh).

better than all you listed.

Bestbuy is the bottom of the heap.

I just wish we would get a Fry's.

Ah... I think I mistook Frys for CompUSA. Fry's always has the mobo/cpu combo deals, right? I wish we were getting a Frys then, not CompUSA. 🙂

In L.A., CompUSA is essentially worthless, except for any specials they have. The OD, OM and BB all typically have more and better special items, and the Office pair often have decent coupon and rebate deals.

Fry's is also good for their specials, but the place is often a zoo, and returns can be a real hassle. Like CompUSA, much of the rest of their computer stuff is overpriced.

CompUSA is the most worthless store ever. Only clueless schmucks (ie, your average American) buy their crap from there.

CompWho? Actually, it's been over a year since I've spent any money in that place.

Agreed. The only advantage to me is that they're fairly near where I live. However, I'll usually go to Best Buy or Frys, or Central Computer.
