get your free iPod here!

I was googling something like "make your own playlist" or something like that, since I was looking for a decent site to listen to some nice music in.
The first few results that came up had "get a free iPod" in them... Obviously I didn't even bother looking, but then I was asking myself, are we wrong to assume immediately that anyone offering a free iPod is a scammer, or the synonym 'free iPod' = scam is very accurate.

Discuss.

its not that they are scams, its just that they are all pyramid basically schemes or require you to sign up to like 5 "free" offers which will be free the first month but xx$ the following months.

The ipod that comes "free" with a car is not a scam, unless you consider what sort of POS car you'd have to buy.

I don't know anyone that actually got anything like that for free of the internet, though I know many people who signed up for all sorts of crap hoping to get something..

Wait until a new generation of iPod is about to be released, then start checking the newspaper, radio, and television advertisements. The last couple of generational "upgrades" were preceded by a mass dumping of the current generation of iPod Nanos to financial institutions. All at once, every bank and credit union seemed to be offering a free iPod Nano if you set up an account with them. They usually wanted you to have your paycheque direct-deposited there, though.

A couple friends of mine got iPods and other stuff free. Like others have said, it's a pyramid scheme (not scam). It's just a pain in the dupa and (for me) not worth it.

Um. American. Scranton, PA is 1.5 hours south of here, that's where the fiance's family is from and I've been hanging around them for too long. Interesting, heyna?

I also got a free iPod. It was one of those sign up for 8 of our special offers and we'll send you a free iPod deals. Between all the stuff I signed up for and canceled the next day I spent about $17.
I eBay'd the iPod for $310.

$293 profit 😀
