Well, from everything I have read about the Dell 2001fp monitor, it:
1.) puts out too much heat
2.) uses too much power
Other than that, it looks like it is a delightful monitor.
I saw the Samsung 213T yesterday, and it really looked nice. I know that the Dell is a pinch "faster" but I doubt it would make any day-to-day difference to me.
What worries me the most about buying the 213T (or any LCD) are the various "dead pixel" policies of the various local and on-line merchants. Newegg is at least 6 (or 8) for return, Circuit City, yesterday told me 8.
I would really like to buy a brand new $1100+ LCD with no dead pixels. If I was buying a 15 or 17" I wouldn't care, but a 21.3" I really do care.
What are your opinions on how to deal with this situation?? I won't pay a 15% ($165+) restocking fee to send one back, so what do I do?
Also, I already own a Samsung 191T. I would really like a true upgrade. Is there a monitor I am not considering that would be a real step up, that does not cost another $300-500 more than either the Dell or the 213T? If not, which of the two monitors (the 2001fp or the 213T) would you TRULY consider to be a real upgrade to the 191T (other than just real estate) and why? If you think the 191T is just or almost as good as either choice, please state that also.
Thanks!
