I just got my package!

...Ugh. The card is ass ugly. Lol. Atleast they cold have died the PCB a differnet color! Red? Please!

But I'll let you know how it overclocks after I install and all the goodies!

Be back in a few!

I went ahead and am installing everything off the CD...taking a good bit. I didn't read if it has the Cats 3.2 or not. Sure enough, Rage3d doesn't recognize it, though.

Alright, now everyone needs to understand that I have a HUGE bottleneck in my pc right now....My damn memory.

Here is my PC as it was run for the benchmark

1700+ JIUHB @ 185x10
512 mb Corsair XMS PC2700C2PT (because of my high FSB it won't run at anything lower than 8-3-3-T3 cas 3!!!! When I put the memory down to 166MHz it runs fine at Cas2 5-2-2-T2. Btw, I'm selling this memory for PC3200)
ATi 9600pro
WD80gb 8mb Cache
Asus A7N8X

Anyways. At stock settings I got 10,263 3dmarks on 2001 SE. I'm about to overclock. Brb with my results!

Alright. My final numbers for overlcocking:

528.75MHz/348.75MHz

From the stock

399.75MHz/299.25MHz

3dMark2001 SE final score:

11,618

From the stock

10,263

Here is my Compare link

As soon as I get paid for some items I just sent out, I'll order 512mb PC3200LL and see how my computer fairs. I'll also get some memory heatsinks and possably a Chrystal Orb.

3DMark2003 please.

Also, do you have a monitor capable of 1600x1200/100Hz? It should do this with a 400MHz DAC, even though ATI says it maxes out at 85Hz- they're often wrong.

Alright! Sorry, I had to go to work. Let me see if I can address everything!

Great resellerrating, and great price! $222 shipped overnight *I would have been without a videocard had I not shipped overnight, so it was well worth the $30, to me!*

I ordered it at 2am yesterday morning, and recieved it at 11am today.

I didn't have time to do 3dmark2003, but I'll try that now. Give me a good hour as I don't have the Pro version, so I have to go through all 20+minutes of it 🙁...Twice! 🙁

Unfortunately, I don't believe my monitor supports that high of a refresh rate! 🙁 My pc is rather old. The highest resolution that I have 100MHz is the one I'm at...1280x1024

I'll be back with some results of 3dmark2003

Wow....Wow. I REALLY need some faster memory. This crap is killing me!!!

Anyways. I only did the Overclocked run...

3230.

I hope to gosh that I get new memory, and that I get it fast! SOMEONE BUY MY MEMORY FROM ME!!!!!!! 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁

Sweeeeeeeet 😀!

Your memory isn't actually holding you back so much. As far as cas speed goes, with ddr cas rating isn't as influencial as it was with sdram, I'd imagine that the driving speed (The T number) is a bit more important. If you're gonna be buying more mem, though, I'd highly recommend a stick of 512 kingston hyperx, runs beautifully here!

Oh, one other thing I noticed. These cards will run much, much better for overclockers not only because the card itself overclocks nice, but because if it's running stable in your rig at 185fsb, thats pretty darn nice (The last gen of ati cards had a lot of issues when the agp was run out of spec)

Don't nForce2 motherboards (his A7N8X) have an PCI/AGP speed lock (keeps 'em at 33/66)?

If you're wondering, I got that little tidbit--right or wrong--from here. Specifically, this quote: "...many overclockers are now purchasing NForce2 based boards that have PCI locks.  This means that the FSB clock is generated independently of the PCI clock, so that your PCI and AGP speeds remain at 33/66 regardless of what your FSB is set at."

Feel free to correct me 🙂

Edit: Damn you OyoYOhowsDAjello! You beat me to it 😀

Gotcha... I feel retarded now 😛 thanks for corecting me

So what is the consensus? Is it, or is it not my Memory. I mean, everything is squeaky clean...Those timings are just way too high!

Hmmm...would someone mind testing it out? Go into your bios and change all your memory times to mine and see how big of a hit you have? Let me know if you don't mind doing it. This is bugging me.

XP2400 is the fix, and then OC the heck out of that. The video looks great !

My cpu is perfectly fine...Soon as I get new memory I'm sure I can run 200x10, I ran it but it wan't as stable as it should be.

perhaps the bigger cache and higher stock FSB on the Baron 2500+ would be better?? 🙂
