Yep- NO more Razor for me - spend a good month with "support" going back and forth this last summer via email and they kept offering me new products- I kept telling them I don't want a new product- I want a decent mouse that does not require 2.0 software that is collecting data on me and also fails to work properly. And NO many of the products will not work without 2.0 loaded as many do not have legacy drivers for them. If you have an older Death Adder with the 1.0 driver and do not update the driver - It is a great mouse. Too bad as I really liked and used Razor for years.

Have you tried something like this:

http://www.autohotkey.com

I assume your orbweaver just looks like a keyboard to Windows. Software like this should allow you to remap keys, create macros, etc. It should do what you want it to do.

The number of gamers these days that play on computers with no internet access is beyond small. It is not in their interest at all to cater to ~1% of the market. Most gamers game online.

Personally I love synapse 2.0 and the cloud functionality. I can plug my devices into any of my machines and my settings are just instantly there. No need to redo any of them.

Who said I was playing games?
Though you may love cloud functionality; but why can't users who don't love it, need it or use it, be forced to connect to the internet just to get a keyboard to work?

Mine works just fine with the standard windows drivers. I refuse to use the Razer software.

When you say 'just fine' with 'standard windows drivers' what do you mean?
Can you configure keys and macros?
This is the output I get without synapse `1234 qwerASDFZXCV
And I can't find way to change it.
Am I missing something?

Really.
And how does one install and set up without internet?

ooh ok i see

you want to run synapse without accessing the account.

well, i suppose you could log on with another pc. set your device, then export whatever settings synapse creates.

they should be in your registry; if you work in pc security (since you have a machine so super secure it cannot be tainted by the internetz, i assume you do) it shouldn't be a problem for you to find these and copy them over.

Could I? Tracking down folders called 'razer' and copying them to the same location could be done, but what about less obvious ones. And that goes for reg keys. As synapse 2.0 is over 500mb when installed, it's not going to be a long process.
Even if I could find ever key and file, I don't see whyI should have to.
Why can't Razer just make synapse 1.0 available, or include a cd of synapse 2.0 that doesn't need internet.
It is however entirely my fault for not reading the small print before purchase.

No I haven't. Thanks very much I'll download it and give it a go. I assume it's something similar to X-Mouse.
Thanks again.

New account, reported location of London, afraid to plug a computer into the internet. :hmm:

You don't need such a fancy mouse to plan your terror attacks pal.

Au contraire mon brave; multiple macro's c'est de rigueur pour l'internationale terroriste! Mate.:awe:

LOL- I bet you could sell those old drivers as it seems to be a very common issue that many would love to solve.

If you do, I'd be sooo grateful.

There may even be half a lager in it for you.:)

Crude I think I might have deleted them, at least I have the originals installed (for now)

Edit: Also I have the Deathadder which is different, but the legacy drivers still seem to be on razers site.

I had a look at autohotkey but need something more useable.

I found HotkeyP, which has a friendly looking GUI, but can't find any manual or guides.

HotkeyP does recognise Orbweaver keys. I just can't figure out how to assign a simply macro (ctr+alt+x) macro to a key.

Do you know if this is the sort of thing HotkeyP (or hotkey app) is able to do?

Having first told me I could get synapse 2.0 working without internet, Razer are now tell me it isn't.

Any help's appreciated.
