Hello,
anyone know a way to get Synapse 2.0 working on a win7x64 machine that is NOT and WiLLNOT be connected to the internet?

I have an orbweaver and have created an account, downloaded Synapse 2.0 registered it and the orbweaver on a win7 64 laptop with internet access, but now want to use the Orbweaver on the non internet pc.

And no it can't be connected to internet.

And yes I know I shouldn't have bougth the orbweaver in the first place, but I was young and didn't need the money.:D

I've read Synapse 1.0 works fine, but can't find it anywhere.

Any ideas apperciated.

I've been getting a razer synapse 2.0 update for weeks now and can't for the life of me get it to go away or update so...I'm also interested in how to fix this.

Unfortunately, I think you are SOL. This is why I will never buy another Razer device again, until they get rid of this stupid requirement.

I think I clicked 'update now' as part of the installation process; maybe try a re-install.

Don't waste your time with Razer 'support', after promissing me I could get Synapse working without internet, they are now ignoring my emails as to how.

As OlyAR15 says, we're SOL.
F**ked might be closer.

Wow, thank you sooo much cytoSiN.
I'll try synapse 1.0, but after reading your first link Razer might have screwed my chance of getting it to work by having 'updated' the orbweaver to work only synapse 2 when I download synapse to the laptop.

You really have to ask yourself WOT?! were Razer thinking... and why.

Thanks again, I'll get back with the result.

Unfortunately the link to synapse 1.0 turn out to be a trojan downloader. It MIGHT include snapse 1.0, but the time required to clean my pc after it's installed god knows what- especially from a russian site- just isn't worth it.
Thanks though.
I can't use the synapse 2.0 hack in the first link as the 50MB synaspe framework on the Razer site is it's self a trojan downloader- downloading over 500MB which is Synapse 2.0 proper.
Why a mouse needs over half a gig of software to run it is anyones guess; answers on a postcard please.

Razer are still ignoring my emails.

Back to square 1.

I wouldn't get what I paid for it; though it's looking like I'd definately be able to sell it as 'unused' :)

You don't need what you paid for it. You need enough to buy something equivalent, and most such things cost less. You come out even with a working product.

New account, reported location of London, afraid to plug a computer into the internet. :hmm:

You don't need such a fancy mouse to plan your terror attacks pal.

The number of gamers these days that play on computers with no internet access is beyond small. It is not in their interest at all to cater to ~1% of the market. Most gamers game online.

Personally I love synapse 2.0 and the cloud functionality. I can plug my devices into any of my machines and my settings are just instantly there. No need to redo any of them.

people; your razer product will work even without synapse. jesus, use google.

install synapse. set up your device. kill the process from task manager, and uninstall synapse.
done.

This doesn't help, as you need an account to even use Synapse 2.0.

I don't know which is worse: cloud DRM on hardware peripherals, or the fact that Razer apparently gets away with it.

If I was a customer I'd be pushing for a class action lawsuit. This is beyond outrageous.

ooh ok i see

you want to run synapse without accessing the account.

well, i suppose you could log on with another pc. set your device, then export whatever settings synapse creates.

they should be in your registry; if you work in pc security (since you have a machine so super secure it cannot be tainted by the internetz, i assume you do) it shouldn't be a problem for you to find these and copy them over.

Has nothing to do with being on the internet. I don't want to create yet another account just to use modern drivers for a device I paid for. If you want to use the cloud features, making an account makes sense. But I don't take my mouse or keyboard to lan competitions or whatever reason someone would want cloud configs for input devices. If I want to use a deathadder on two different machines, I'll buy two deathadders. I'm not going to carry one around in a briefcase or something acting like its some secret weapon.

My Rival optical does that cloud save shit, but it doesn't require an account just to use the drivers.

i understand now that this is not a technical problem, but an ethical one. you do not want help with using your device, you want help fighting the big machine.

good luck . i personally suggest you post in Off Topic next time and not in the section for actual technical problems.

Yes, because your snarky comment was technical. And I don't need help with anything. Solution was to give away the black widow, and throw the deathadder in the trash. Problem solved!

Go troll elsewhere. The OP just wants to find a way to use 2.0 without internet or to get a copy of 1.0. It's really that simple.
