Checked out the bonus maps, and found they were just modified versions of the same maps in the campaign. How ridiculously boring.

Not to mention, it crashed maybe 3 times on the first bonus map, not once during the campaign, and I can't even remember the last game to crash on this PC. It seems like I'm the only person in the world to find the voice and script mostly annoying as well... I can't be the only one?

Beat it in one sitting, four hours straight. I was pretty skeptical of this game from what I had heard prior, and it started pretty dully, but it improved with almost every level, and the
incinerator part until the end
was the massive climax. Had I paid $20 or whatever it went for initially I would feel ripped off, but for free it was a lot of fun. GladOS was much funnier than I expected too; previous posts gave me the impression that the entire storyline was just a running gag about cake. Still, with such a short playtime, Portal 2 will have to be in the $10 or less range to even consider buying it.

My understanding is that Portal 2 will be a "full length" type of game and will probably be priced as such

I heard the same thing, but unless they change the game entirely, there is no way in hell they can keep it interesting for more than a couple hours. Especially because anyone that played Portal has already warn out the novelty.

So how many of you played for the first time, and how was your experience with the epic win known as "Portal"?

I'm one who played for the first time. Here's my experience:

Played the first night for an hour and got through Lab 14. I found it very entertaining.

Played the second night and got all the way to the last challenge of Lab 15. But no matter what I do, I cannot click button1 , button 2, and portal the energy ball to the receptor fast enough before the doors close. After 30 minutes, I gave up and did something I rarely do - looked at a walkthrough. But that was no help. I'm doing exactly what is being done in the walkthrough. But while it worked in the walkthrough, my doors don't stay open long enough for it to work for me. I gave it another 30 minutes with no luck and quit.

I'll give it another go tonight, but if I'm still stuck, I'm quitting and moving on to something else more interesting - my gaming time is too little and too valuable. I don't mind a challenge but having to do something with precision split-second timing to proceed gets old in a hurry when the task is damn-near impossible!

Just my $0.02

got it and beat it in 4 hours.
its a good game but i think it was too hyped and of course not many things live up to the hype.

It says so right here in your personnel file; 'Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned.' SHALL NOT BE MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official.
