I'm considering dumping T-Mobile for AT&T. I really want 3G for my N95, even when T-Mobile finally rolls out 3G the N95 won't support that band.

But then again, right now I pay $54.99 for 1000 anytime minutes, free N&W, 1000 messages, and unlimited data/hotspot access. I think the same plan from AT&T would run me closer to $100.

Decisions, decisions....

Seems like bad timing on T-Mobile's part with iPhone 3G right around the corner.

I said the same thing to my coworker. Monumentally stupid.

halik, do you have any more info on this? I've half convinced my boss to dump TMo if this is true, and I get a shiny new iPhone 3G.

That's a good deal, I get unlimited nights & weekends too though, and my data plan includes Hotspots....considering I live in Seattle, that's a whole lot of hotspots :p Plus my N95 wouldn't work with Sprint anyway....

Nevermind, finally found some info:

Consumerist

Slickdeals post with early success stories

I'm going to get our accounts manager cracking on this on Monday. It looks like people are able to get their contracts voided now and maintain their service in order to get their numbers ported. This is fucking beautiful. I'm going to get her to get our contract voided so we're still with TMo for the time being, but not beholden, then pick up some iPhone 3Gs for some of us when they're in reasonable stock here in NYC, then ditch TMobile once our numbers are transferred...excellent.

Man it would be nice if Tmo had people reading the forums and such and then cracked down on this nonsense. I bet you people probably don't even USE text messaging (or have a bundle) so it doesn't have an adverse material affect anyway.

People are always just looking for a free ride.

Oh, and when I worked for VZW, I never let anybody out of their contract for a text messaging increase if they had a bundle, didn't use text, or called from their cell phone(continued use of service ;) ). Got my supervisor to put notes on the accounts to deny ending the contracts for these people. :)

Don't be too hard on T-Mobile - they are a subsidiary of a German company, and the main culprit here is that the dollar has lost and continues to lose value - so the bottom line in the US has to be raised to stay even.

Having said that - it is a free market and you can go with whomever you like - usually determined by the best coverage in the area or areas of your planned usage.
