If that one neg is the only one, it seems somewhat worth it...
I know I might want to preserve my flawless feedback if someone should one day leave a neg feedback...

Applause for a unique hot deal!

Is any negative really worth $20 to get removed? You can always respond to the user's comment and just say he's an idiot (in a nicer way though, probably ;) )

to preserve your prestine record of 200 positives, it's probably worth it.

it still sounds pretty shadey to me... I don't like the idea people are able to remove negative feedback. Its there for a reason. If its unwarranted, you can contact ebay and they'll take care of it for you or as jacktackle said, you can always respond to it

This is not entirely true. I got my negative feedback removed through ebay's proper channels, but only because the information the user had on ebay registration was false. ebay does not remove retaliatory or unwarranted negative feedback just because it is. The $20 service has a 3rd party investigate the situation and submits a report to ebay about what happened. Removing the negative feedback is still up to ebay to see if it is fit.

It seemed pretty painless when i did it. You do have to go through third party mediation, but then after that, if they submit a resulotion to ebay, then ebay will remove feedback.

Yeah, Ebay has become omnipresent.

Would I bid from a guy with 2 or 3 negatives out of 100 postives ? You bet I would.
Would I bid from a guy with 2 0r 3 negatives out of 50 postives? In a heartbeat.

Screw Squaretrade , Ebay and Paypal.

BTW I sold a laptop on Ebay awhile ago, Ebay got $30, Ebay err Paypal got $30 . Good grief.

So a question.... (doesn't apply to me, just a question).

If you did deserve the negative feedback (took 2 months to pay, and sent less money than you were supposed to), will the $20 remove the negative feedback?

I just ask because if the answer is YES then it really pisses me off.....that's all.

My $.02

if I purchase somthing off of ebay and the person has 200 evals with only 1 negative

believe me I am not gonna pay attention to that one negative....

sometimes things come up and on ebay you may hit a negative or two
but 1 out of 200 isn't bad...

I look for at least 90% postive.
sometimes there are revange feedback (i have one. bought a item and never got it left feedback). I also look to see what the negitives are for.

there was a program that let you pull up only the negitives of a person anyone know what it is?

ebay lies, they will remove negative feedback without paying any money to squaretrade. I got into a nasty flamewar a couple of months ago with a buyer who refused to pay me. After 2 rounds of inflammatory feedback (feedback to each other, then response to that feedback), ebay simply removed the negative feedback and responses from each of our accounts.

I'm still angry with ebay. They have told me in the past that they can't possibly do anything about negative feedback, even if the whole process is documented. That example above shows they can and will delete negative feedback. I have 3 negative feedbacks from 3 buyers who flat out refused to pay for their auctions (2 have had their accounts closed since, 1 has hidden feedback now... real winners). Ebay gave me final value fee refunds and the buyers never disputed that they refused to pay. BTW, I've been selling on ebay since 3/98 and have a 267 feedback rating: 278+ (270 unique users), 3 neutral, 3 negative, and I *never* ask or beg (that's disgusting) for feedback .

Why? As a buyer, there is absolutely no diference for me between a seller with 1 neg and 200 positives, vs one with zero and 200 like you. 99.5% customer approval rating? That's good enough for me, and I can't imagine anyone else would feel differently (as a buyer).

It's called BayCheck Pro, you can find it HERE. The Pro version is shareware, I paid for it about 2 years ago and have never regretted it for a second. The free version is feature-limited, not nearly as comprehensive...

If you do a lot of trading on eBay I can't recommend strongly enough that you spend the money on BayCheck Pro... it also lets you view only the neutral and negatvie feedback a user has LEFT for other users, which can come in handy, to see if someone has a habit of leaving retaliatory negs. You can also search bidding and selling histories, sort items by price, seller, bidder, date - really a great program to have.

There's a free trial, just give it a shot, I promise you won't be disappointed!
