Get iTunes music back?

I've never used iTunes, nor plan to, but my cousin just had her computer crash and she lost all the music she got off iTunes. She had prepaid cards for her birthday.

I've checked the site, but there's no help section it seems...
Anyone here know how to get lost iTunes music back? Since she bought them can she go into her account and get them again for free? Or anything like that?

I've had that happen a few times. You can't get it back, unless you have it backed up, in which case you have to enter in your password for the protected music again, and it considers that an act of "enabling it on another machine", which you can do like 5 or 6 times... It's a pain.

It's not enabling the song on another machine, it's enabling the other machine to play music belonging to the account that the song was downloaded to.

It's 5 (i think it's 5) machines at once per account. If you go over due to crashes/reformats, you'll have to contact support to get the old computers taken out of their system.

How? Do tell, do tell. I just lost 60 gigs of mp3z when my RAID 5 array crashed. (Already b!tched about it in GH). So I would very much like to know this as well.

use ipod agent to transfer ipod songs back to itunes. do not say yes ifitunes asks if it can write over your ipod or sync or whatever when u connect the cable.. it'll blank it

theres also a wayt o see the hidden folder...make uninvisible the hidden folder on the ipod. we all know how on pc.. and u can find out on the web about mac. drag and drop files into itunes window and tada.. or so i'm told

All you do is send them an e-mail explaining what happened, and they'll let you download it again. Happened to me twice over the past two years.

I stand corrected, you can't. I thought you could use the advanced->check for purchased music, but you can't.

ugh.. crashing won't wipe out the drive right? its all in the tunes folder. find the specified files and drag em all into itunes window.. from playlists to ratings to music files

This is true, just shoot them an e-mail from the account the iTunes store is under, and they should get back to you with some sort of verification process, and then they'll reenable downloads for your songs. A friend of mine was in the same situation as the OP's sister and that's what they did.
