get dell service for your alienware pc!!!

why put outdated rumors in hot deal?

EDIT: apologies to the OP. I though this is just another repost for the old "rumor" without looking at it carefully. Yeah it is official. But maybe this topic should be moved to other forums.

Dell won't be supporting Alienware products or vice-versa. They will be independently run and managed. The only real leverage planned is Dell's logistical and supply chain expertise, which should help pricing for Alienware's parts and allow a smoother supply chain in construction.

now didnt someone post that this was just a rumor and that alienware has backed out of the deal?

thats what i remember seeing

o wow.. the deal actually went through.. what little respect i had for alienware b/c of their cases is now 100% gone..

My respect in this situation has absolutely nothing to do with Dell and Alienware. My amazement is that The Inquirer actually called one right. The drivel they decide to print usually wouldn't merit even contacting my butt as toliet paper.

ok, i'll retort... i probably shouldn't, but...

this could be a very hot deal for consumers because it might be the beginning of a price war on better gaming hardware...

this could be a hot deal for amd stock owners because if dell starts using amd cpus amd's stock might go up some more...

and this is certainly a hot deal for the boss types at alienware since they are probably making a mint on the deal...

but i guess it's not really a hot deal since there's not something in hand that has a lower price than it costs somewhere else...

i liked this forum a lot better a couple years ago...

heavy sigh...

Unfortunately I tried to RMA my alienware PC with Dell and they told me to get bent. Maybe this could be a sort of hot deal if it was true. What makes you say Dell will be servicing them? I didn't see it in the article.

Yes it is real. It was confirmed.

I also remember seeing an interview with the owner of Alienware a few days ago which this deal was mentioned. They are going to be a seperate business unit, much like how there is a "Dell Home" and "Dell Small Buisness" (for those that have been under a rock around here, this is why there are deals which come up all the time here which say "go to Dell Home" or "go to Dell Small Buisness" to get the deal).

Maybe they will stop Alienware from buying AMD CPU's. Talk about a deal killer for a gaming PC company. :Q

No, they bought Alienware so they could use AMD CPUs, from what I heard they had a contract with intel, now they can get out of it.

</Hearsay>

Will Alienware's coupons be flying around ??? That sound a good deal now.
And they now may honor huge price/coupon mistakes 🙂

For basic support (Home and SOHO) Dell outsources their support too so you are screwed either way.
