Get Command & Conquer Red Alert for free

just downloaded and installed this, but the resolution is so bad on my 22" wide LCD screen, is there a way to play this game in higher resolution or this is so old that its not possible? I don't remember the resolution is been this bad, but I am sure it has something to do with my LCD has sucky non-native resolution. any help?
