Get back into Rugby or no?

When I was 16(Grade.10), I had fractured two lower back vertebrae while playing rugby by compressing them. It's been almost 2 years now since then, turning 18 soon, and my doctor told me my back is fine now and I can play rugby, but I wanted you guys suggestions on whether to risk playing again. I love the game but since the back/spine is very special, I don't know whether I should get back into it.

tl;dr - Fractured lower vertebrae 1 1/2 to almost 2 years ago, should I get back into rugby?

Well, ask yourself this: if you get another significant injury like that, will it be worth it? Another back injury will almost definitely decrease your function later in life and will 100% promote early joint degeneration. If you're not built like a brick, rugby isn't typically the sport of choice. If it breaks you, move along.

I love playing sports, but that'd be too big of a risk to my entire quality of life if I were in your situation.

Don't. Not because you'll risk injury, if your doctor says it's fine then it should be okay, but because it's a stupid sport. To be honest, with your injuries I'd try something with less contact.

That's not good reasoning at all. The doctor is saying he can now return to the sport. He's not saying that other injuries aren't imminent. He's respecting the will of someone to play a sport. However, he should brief you on the risks of continuing to get vertebral and other bony injuries in particular.
