I recently recived $400 dell certificate and now thinking about getting the 2001FP, however after looking into it i see that this screen was released a year ago. Now i wonder if Dell has any new models coming out, I'm not in a real rush so to wait 2-3 months is not a BIG deal. Dose anyone know of upcoming LCD display units with low response time and contrast, dell or other brands.

I'm also curious. The 2001fp is approaching it's 1 year anniversary and it looks as if a new model may be comming up.

I JUST bought the 2001FP and I love it.

No ghosting in Doom3, Farcry and the UT2004 demo. Thats what I have played on it.
I stronly suggest this monitor. Also, in the tech field, if you wait for something better, you will
always be waiting.

I think so. Intel and Sony have their silicon wafer based displays coming towards the end of this year or sometime next year. But come on, they'll be too expensive so get something now.

I recommend that you follow the LCD thread in the A/V forum at arstechnica.com. I haven't heard of any new Dell models in the pipe but there are definitely newer LCD panels available so I wouldn't be surprised if Dell updates its product line in the next few months.

who cares?
i dont see anything wrong with the 2001. tons of real estate, crisp, fast..

only thing is the new ones might be cheaper, but at $720 i think the 2001 is a steal.

Another vote for the Dell 2001FP. I love mine.

Absolutely no complaints.

I just bought a new monitor the other week, and it is a Dell 2001FP. I went from a 20-21 inch Trinitron CRT to this beatutiful new 2001FP. There are ZERO dead pixels, and even at 1024x768 it looks good. At it's native 1600x1200 it looks stunning. Watching DVDs on this thing is a treat. I love my monitor and would easily reccomend it.
