Well I asked my neighbor to let me try it and he agreed. So I ran 3dMark 2005 and got 1961 compared to my previous score of around 1475. Not much of an improvement here, haven't really tried any games yet.

since you don't seem particularly interested, you wanna send me his info so I can buy it from him?

A 9700 Pro for $30 wouldn't last more than 10 seconds in the For Sale forum!

Edit: And you don't have to pay shipping either!

If I were you, I would pay neighbor first so I can keep it even if he/she changes his/her mind later. For 30 bucks, you can't even buy 9500NP on the forum or anywhere. 9700 Pro is as good as 9800NP overall, and just think how much 9800NP worth. And also, 500 points in 3DMark05 means A LOT MORE than you think.

exactly, although even if it were quirky, $30... it isn't easy to get a simple 2D card for $30 let alone a still rather potent 9700 Pro.

you'd be CRAZY not to take it, even if you didn't need it, you could sell it for almost $100 higher. I think you know what to do 😉 😉

That's a %25 increase on 3dm2005.

Try the same test on 2001 or maybe 2003-- that's where the real difference will be.
