Get 7800 GTX on Monday or wait 2 weeks to save $66?

Ok. So I have a comptuer setup just waiting to be finished. My video card is the last component I need to finish it. I ordered the video card and the package has already been shipped. It arrives on Monday.

BUT....

I soon found out I would save $66 ordering from another vendor, but I would have to wait 2 weeks for shipping.

So fellow ATOT'ers....would you:

A. Accept the package, pay the regular price and get the product THIS coming Monday to finish the computer

OR

B. Refuse the package, get a refund (I've checked with Tigerdirect and I won't be charged the 15% restocking fee), reorder the same video card with a total savings of $66 and wait 2 weeks and even longer (free ground shipping) to finally finish the computer.

I could take the $66 savings and apply it towards RAM...but I want the card so bad....

EDIT: SINCE Mrvile spilled the beans, here is the whole story from him on post #3.

He recently ordered a BFG 7800GTX on TigerDirect for about 599 bucks, which is a great deal, but just found out that, with a coupon, he could get it from Dell for like 531 bucks (after tax). However Dell's delivery is much slower than TD's so he'd have to wait a couple extra weeks.

Right forum is that way <---

But here's the rest of the story...

He recently ordered a BFG 7800GTX on TigerDirect for about 550 bucks, which is a great deal, but just found out that, with a coupon, he could get it from Dell for like 490 bucks. However Dell's delivery is much slower than TD's so he'd have to wait a couple extra weeks.

save the money... you can't rely on dell's estimated ship date anyway.. it's usually sooner than posted.

I dunno if this will help but...

Once I wrote an e-mail directly to Dell, asking them why it would take so long to ship out a $600 monitor. They soon wrote back letting me know that they had expedited my order and it was sent out that day. I got it like 3 days later.

Perhaps you could try that?

I haven't ordered through Dell yet. Still trying to decide.

Get it on Monday. $66 isn't much when you're spending quite a bit on a system. And if you're looking at taking that $66 and putting it towards RAM, which you skimped on in the first place, you should be kicked in the groin for neglecting that part of the system.

No no...I'm not paying $66 for crappy RAM..I'm just saying I'm going to apply it towards the purchase of RAM (meaning adding more money to the saved $66).

Why wait? The troubles of sending it back, make sure you got a full refund (minu shipping?), order one from dell and wait 2+ week for it are not worth it.

BTW, if you are willing to blow $600 on a video card, $66 is really nothing. Let looks at it this way, how much you already spend on the building that computer? $1200+? $66 out of that is peanut. If it takes you 3 more weeks to finish the computer, the parts might go down in value already. So in really, you not going to save $66. More likely $5 plus lost time.

$600 for a video card.... It just boggles the mind. Good on ya if that's what you want/need/can afford/etc, but.... dayumn. If I spend $150 I feel I've broke the bank. Plus, the $150 card I bought becomes a $50 card in a year or so.

It's actually free shipping to ship it back cause I'll just refuse the shipment.

Also, I got the AMD tech tour bundle so that was only $250.

I sold for my BFG 6800 GT for $300 so I took that and used it to buy my 7800 GTX. I already have my case and hard drives so the video card is the last thing.

So in the end, the total cost of my new computer is about $650-$700.

What do you think now? Should I still accept it or return it?

That's my point. Why spend $150 on a card that is worth $50 next year?

Why not invest in a high end card, and then resell it after year since the card will still be worth a lot when you sell it.

Plus, I sold my 6800 GT for $300. I took that $300 and reinvested that into the 7800 GTX. So I'm only paying like $299. (Or $231 if I went with Dell which is not really a lot).
