Well I will contact them if I don't get the rebate confirmation in the next day or so. If for whatever reason they say I don't qualify for the rebate then my new baby will be going back, plain and simple.

BTW, I ordered Nov. 23th,the first day this offer came up. Sort of unofficial at that time.
Since my confirmation was here, I think you guys ordered later should all be fine.

bigmouth,

If anything is wrong with the pixel I believe it's classified as a "dead pixel". If there are more 10 of them anywher eon the screen, you can send for a replacement. if there 2 or 3 (depends on OEM) right next to each other you might also be able to get a replacement...

Also for those that haven't gotten their confirm mailings... why not fire an e-mail to US_Holiday_Promos@dell.com

Thanks.

Insomniac and Dx-treme, thank you for answering my question, guys!
I regret I didn't pick the internal modem with 10/100 Nic. :( Actually, I didn't see that option when I ordered.
My laptop was packaged and waiting for the shipping carrier to pick up as I called them. A Dell CS boy offered me an external nic card for $150. Forget it! :Q
I can save some bucks to get this one. ;)

"Can they send me a combo 56k /nic card and i send back the 56k??"

LuZeR, when I asked them the same question, they said I would void the warranty if I opened it up. Hmm...

I ordered a 5000e, PIII 700, 14.1 display, 16 meg vidio,10gig HD, DVD
Placed order 12/2
Recieved order confirmation 12/3
Recieved rebate confirmaTION 12/4 pm
Projected ship date 12/7

I placed my order through the small business link rather than home and home office. And I used an existing customer number when I placed the order. It was pretty old and they gave me a new number

I have a pixel that is always green. This is very annoying. Especilly since my background color is black (to save power) and the pixel is also in the 'letterboxed' area when watching a movie. I have not received any type of confirmation about the rebate and I will try to find something out today.

I ordered on the 28th, shipped on the 30th and I received it yesterday. My order number never changed and I always saw somehing in the URL about the MSN Promo I think.

Good news for those who ordered the 3800 with the 14.1 TFT...

Thank you for your recent Dell online purchase in the amount of
$1,398.00, including tax and shipping. According to our
records, you are qualified to receive a 20% rebate on this total
amount for meeting the eligibility requirements of the "MSN eShop
Holiday Bonus" offer! The calculated rebate comes to $279.60.

Confirmation!

Now the down side. While the statement above indicates that tax and shipping is included in the stated price, it is not (final purchase price with tax is >$1500). Also, the calculated rebate is 20% of the stated price; not inclusive of the tax and shipping. Not really complaining, but a bit misleading. Also, my receipt (printed web page order confirmation) states that "A 20% cash rebate will be issued to ... based on total transaction amount, including taxes and shipping".

Insomniac and Braxus- I tried the LCDtest. I noticed one dark pixel when the screen is blue.
Red and green are OK. in Black and white, it is partially dark. So, it's stuck pixel right? I tried to massage it but no luck. :(

Do I need to turn off the lappy to do this or need to go to some massage school?

Usually if the pixel refuses to light up at all it's a dead pixel.

Sounds wierd.... massaging a LCD... ;)

Brainstorm,

I ordered my I8K on 11/24. The order status page for my lappy says it's expected to ship on 12/11... next Monday. Hope they ship it FedEx or AirBorne... Just as long as it's not USPS or UPS!

Thanx Braxus. I placed my order on 11/28, and my order confirmation had an expected ship date of 12/07. But Dell messed up my order somehow and they had to issue a new order. As such my order was processed only on 12/4 and now the expected ship date is 12/22! I called Dell to talk to them about this and they said that the reason for such a long delay is that the 32mb AGP4x Video Cards are backordered 11 days starting yesterday! Now I have to wait an extra 2 weeks for my laptop :(

I am having a really difficult time getting Dell's 'Customer Care' division to send me a confirmation of my 20% cash back. The only email I got from them said that I would NOT get a confirmation. I should just sit on my hands and HOPE that I get the 20% back. Plus, trying to contact them through the phone is sooo frustrating. I keep on getting the run-around. What's the deal? Isn't Hell known for its customer service?
