I think this is worth noting...quite a hefty discount since its $20
back for EVERY $100 spent at "MS friendly" shops, up to $100.

Sorry if someone already posted.

Good googly moogly!!! It's back. For those of you who remember the great deals this offer created with Mercata last year we should be looking forward to some awesome deals. I'm going to scour some sites tonight looking for some rebated items. Too bad mercata went under. Hopefully some of the other merchants will have some rebated stuff....

Sweet ... brings back happy memories of the same promotion at MSN eShop last year :D (The maximum reward limit was a lot higher though, $500 vs $100 this time). Scored a couple of super deals and got over $400 dollars off on top of that !

800.com, Crutchfield, PhotoAlley look like the best bets with the gift checks and coupons ... watch out for MP SuperStore - one of those Brooklyn, NY operations that try to to rip you off on high priced "accessories".

Oh man do I remember the pandamonium last year.

32" Sony WEGA for $609 with free shipping from 800.com

36% off at Mercata plus free shipping

20% off Dell plus their regular promo's

This has the potential to be flaming hot. I already see 800.com listed, time to check out their DVD selection and that Fuji digicam.

I'm affraid of doing this deal unless I can see it in writing from MSN. Anybody done this yet and got an email confirmation from MSN about their gift check or status...etc??? Anyone?

Okay it was just a dreaded feature of my browser.

Anyhow...please keep this in mind:

==> Products from participating stores will be labeled "Get your MSN Holiday Reward" are the only ones that can benifit from this deal. So its not everything at a store...so be careful of what you put in your basket.

all stores

this is the list of all of the stores. Maybe some great deals to be had with staples officemax and office depot if you can combine it with free shipping and a coupon... any available right now?

Also bestbuy and circuit city if they have some nice day after turkey day deals.

I dont think all of those stores are 'participating'... only the ones listed on the main promotion page... same as last year.

WARNING!

Be careful when you use MSN Passport to make purchases from their participating merchants in order to get the cash check from MSN. According to MSN Passport site, only products from participating stores labeled Get your MSN Holiday Reward will be qualified for the MSN rebates. Today is the first day the MSN Passport Holiday Reward begins and obviously most merchants have not updated their website to include the symbol of MSN Holiday Reward! I doubt it may create a hassle that MSN will not honor the rebates if you buy something without the reward symbol.

Am I eligible for the reward even if I make the purchases with gift certificates?

I did a live chat and spoke with an agent. She said that my IPAQ from mpsuperstore.com would qualify. So my $408 IPAQ for $178 + shipping after MS Holiday reward rebate and Compaq mail-in rebate.

800.com is participating, and when you click on "GAMES" (video games), you get sent to EBWorld.com. They seem to have some partnership, but are we still eligible for the rebate?

Note: purchases made at 800.com's partner stores (such as EBgames.com) will not count towards your reward total.

Found this on a pop-up: "Note: purchases made at 800.com's partner stores (such as EBgames.com) will not count towards your reward total."

My suggestion is to use this deal to buy one of the new consoles. You should technically be able to buy an Xbox for $240, Gamecube for $160, etc. It seems that wouldn't be a bad idea considering that consoles are difficult to buy with anything more than insignificant discounts.

I just made a purchase from Crutchfield using the MSN eShop. Is there a way to verify online how much rebate MSN is going to send me ?

They will email you within a day plus there is a way to do it from their web site.. I just got boned by Starbucks. They will not give a reward for a gift card purchase. I don't know why my dad likes that crappy coffee anyway.

No Staples isn't on the list.

A complete list is here: The list

BTW, anyone a good 12 item I can buy from any of those places? I need to spend another $12 and I'll get $20 back.

MrPeabody..

I saw THAT list... but there was another list posted showing lots of other vendors... one of which was Staples.

Does anyone know if Staples was in on this last year..?
Did MSN only pay $$ for purchases made on products carrying the symbol? And did MSN honor purchases made from stores on their larger list of stores?
