I went ahead and signed up for a savings account. I figure it really can't do much harm to just let it sit there for three months, collect the $100, and close the account. I might even check out the features on the account to see if there's anything useful in there. The savings account can't be used for bill-pay etc, right?

not sure about this, but you can check it after you create the account. I can use my e-savings for bill pay. The ultimate savings is for new citibank account monies, as already mentioned.

Can you get any ThankYouNetwork points for using the savings account?

Doesn't look like it. With this account it seems you just have savings, no bill pay, no thankyounetwork etc etc.

Someone can correct me if that's not correct, but after signing up for the account that's what it looks like. Still, not bad, earn a free $100 in 90 days for not doing anything.

Seems like a good deal. I only have CCs with CitiBank so another $100 would be nice. Camera lenses are expensive ;). Thanks.

Alright so guys, I jsut did this and at the end this showed up. Do I really have to do that to get the money or get the savings account to open or is that for something else?

Please remember to fax or mail your credit card authorization form to Citibank

TIA

Same thing happened to me since I chose to use a Debit/Credit card for transfer. I'm going to call tomorrow and find out what the deal is.

Ah, I forgot how un-smooth these accounts can be to open online. It said my accounting is pending approval. I have to expect a phone call, send them my signature, wait for some materials to arrive, etc, all before my account gets opened.

This happened to everyone else right?

I just got my $100 from the previous Bank of America checking account deal. I opened it online with no problems or need to send anything signed in the mail or fax.
